Cloth first,
everything else after
Cashmere, linen and undyed wool from family mills we have bought from for years. Cut simply, made to be worn for a decade, and never marked with a logo.
Worldwide
Complimentary delivery on every order, wherever you are.
Alterations
Sleeves and hems adjusted at no charge, for as long as you own it.
Named mills
Every cloth lists the mill and the fibre. No exceptions.
Sixty days
Long enough to live in a piece before deciding on it.
The house staples
The pieces we have made every season since the beginning, changed only where they needed changing.
Three cloths
We buy fibre before we design anything. Everything the house makes begins here.
Cashmere
Two-ply from a single herd, spun loosely so it softens rather than pills.
Undyed wool
Left the colour the animal grew, which is why no two runs match exactly.
Linen
Wet-spun flax, washed twice before cutting so it arrives already soft.
Newly woven
Added this season, in quantities limited by what the mills could spin.
No logo,
no season
Nothing we make carries a mark on the outside, and nothing is designed to be obsolete by spring. If a piece is still right, we keep making it.
View the collectionBought by the fibre
We secure the cloth first and design to it, which is why a run ends when the cloth does.
One quiet palette
Ink, oat and undyed. Everything layers with everything else.
Alterations
Included for life.
Named mills
Listed on every piece.
From the house book
Eight years in the same cashmere crew. It has gone softer every winter and has never once pilled at the elbow.
They shortened the sleeves without charging me and posted it back inside a week. That is the entire reason I keep buying here.
Nothing has a logo on it, which was the point. People ask where it is from rather than recognising it.
Named mills
Every cloth carries its mill, its fibre and its country on the label.
Alterations included
Sleeves, hems and waists adjusted free, for as long as you own the piece.
No outside marks
No monogram, no plaque, no visible branding of any kind.
Sixty-day returns
A prepaid label and no questionnaire about why it did not suit.
Letters from the house
New cloths, restock notes and the occasional word from a mill. Twice a month, never more.
